O2 centre in Finchley Road; my wheel got nicked!

The O2 centre in Finchley Road is a shopping mall that attracts a mix of people, as mixed as the entertainment on offer: Books, Nando’s, Habitat, Esporta, cinemas, a bars, pubs… As many other malls, this is one often visited by its fair share of chavs.

Anyway, I chained my expensive-looking bike yesterday in Finchley, by the doors of O2. I chained my rear wheel, not my front one. The wheels have this quick release mechanism. You just pull the level and the wheel is ready to go. And away it had gone by the time I returned to my bike, 30 minutes after I had left it.
