Franco ended Cliff Richard’s hopes in Eurovision

Franco (Francisco Paulino Hermenegildo Teódulo Franco Bahamonde) robbed Sir Cliff Richard (read Great Britain, one can’t say where one ends and where starts the other) of the Eurovision win in 1968. La Sexta, a Spanish television station, only recently aired a documentary claiming to uncover the vote-rigging.

A colleague at work and, however, friend, sent me this video of a singer that would send the Über-star Chikilicuatre, current Spanish candidate to Eurovision, to the limbo of the forgotten:

Which reminds me that there are a few more videoclips that I would like to watch.

  • Iggy Pop – I’ve never met a girl like you before
  • Freakpower – Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out. Levi’s tv spot “Taxi” directed by Baillie Walsh. A commercial run for the French tv.
  • Screaming Jay Hawkins – Constipation blues. There is one in YouTube but a live performance I remember having watched was very funny.
